The funeral procession for President Jimmy Carter went from the Navy Memorial to the Capitol. There was a public viewing area on Constitution Avenue across the street from the Capitol grounds.

Preceding the horse-drawn caisson, there was an honor guard, a military band, and contingents from each of the services.
